HRE Performance Wheels 309

A dense fan, webbed inside the rivet ring

Where the 303 is fine, the 309 is finer and there are more of them. The spokes are narrow enough that the face reads as texture rather than structure, and just inside the bolt ring each pair is tied together by a small web, which stiffens the pattern into a ring of tiny arches. The stepped polished lip outside it gives the whole face a hard edge to stop at.

Dense faces like this go quiet in dark finishes and get loud in bright ones - the same wheel can look like a solid disc or like a wire wheel depending on the color. Because so little sits behind it, the 309 is also the Classic design that hides a scruffy brake or a plain barrel most effectively.

Classic, forged 3-piece, offered in 18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Luxury sedans and long coupes, and it reads especially well under white, champagne and light metallic wraps that keep the fan from closing up. We've rendered it on 231 cars so far — same studio frame each time, wheel swapped in place.

Questions, answered

What sizes does the HRE 309 come in?

18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Diameter shown; width and offset are specified at order. It is forged 3-piece, so the wheel is machined for the car rather than picked off a shelf. HRE shows it in brushed clear, gloss silver, gloss white, satin silver and satin charcoal, generally over a polished lip.

Will the 309 fit my car?

Almost certainly. Nothing in this set is cast — every wheel is forged to order, so width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore are specified when you place the order. The variable that matters visually is diameter, and that is what these renders show.

Are these photos or renders?

Renders, and deliberately so. Each car is rendered once per wheel in the same studio frame, so the only thing that changes between two images is the wheel itself. A photo set shot in different places and different light can't give you that comparison.
