HRE Performance Wheels 305-GT

Five broad spokes, one-piece, from 17 inches

Five spokes as wide as the Classic 305's, but forged whole, so the bolt ring and the polished step lip are gone and the face ends at a plain machined edge. The windows between the spokes stay enormous, which is why this is the GT design that shows the most caliper and the most barrel color of any in the family.

In a dark satin gunmetal, as HRE photographs it, the spokes recede and the windows dominate - the wheel reads as a five-armed shadow rather than a bright object. That is a very different effect from the brushed and polished Classic 305, and it is the reason to look at both on the same car before deciding.

Classic, forged monoblok, offered in 17", 18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Classic coupes and small roadsters on 17s and 18s, and it holds up well under bright, flat wrap colors that contrast the dark face. We've rendered it on 231 cars so far — same studio frame each time, wheel swapped in place.

Questions, answered

What sizes does the HRE 305-GT come in?

17", 18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Diameter shown; width and offset are specified at order. It is forged monoblok, so the wheel is machined for the car rather than picked off a shelf. Shown in satin dark gunmetal, with gloss white and satin silver builds also in the gallery.

Will the 305-GT fit my car?

Almost certainly. Nothing in this set is cast — every wheel is forged to order, so width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore are specified when you place the order. The variable that matters visually is diameter, and that is what these renders show.

Are these photos or renders?

Renders, and deliberately so. Each car is rendered once per wheel in the same studio frame, so the only thing that changes between two images is the wheel itself. A photo set shot in different places and different light can't give you that comparison.
