HRE Performance Wheels 517

Plain flat five-spoke over a very deep dish

The face here is minimal on purpose: five flat spokes, no insets, no sculpting, and a dark finish that pushes them into the background. What you actually notice is the dish - deep, bright and studded with a bold ring of rivets that sits closer to the face than on any other vintage design in the range.

That balance is the whole design. On the 505 the face competes with the barrel; on the 517 it concedes, and the wheel becomes a bright hoop with a dark star inside it. It is a strong look on a wide rear and a slightly odd one on a narrow front, so worth checking on your actual car.

Vintage, forged 3-piece, offered in 18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Wide-body classics and lowered coupes, and dark wraps where a deep chrome dish is the only bright element on the car. We've rendered it on 231 cars so far — same studio frame each time, wheel swapped in place.

Questions, answered

What sizes does the HRE 517 come in?

18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Diameter shown; width and offset are specified at order. It is forged 3-piece, so the wheel is machined for the car rather than picked off a shelf. Reference builds include gloss black, satin charcoal, brushed dark clear, frozen dark clear and frozen polished clear faces over bright dishes.

Will the 517 fit my car?

Almost certainly. Nothing in this set is cast — every wheel is forged to order, so width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore are specified when you place the order. The variable that matters visually is diameter, and that is what these renders show.

Are these photos or renders?

Renders, and deliberately so. Each car is rendered once per wheel in the same studio frame, so the only thing that changes between two images is the wheel itself. A photo set shot in different places and different light can't give you that comparison.
