HRE Performance Wheels S209

A dense turbine fan behind a riveted lip

Thin spokes, twisted, and a lot of them - close enough together that the face reads as a turbine rather than as a set of spokes. Each blade turns away from you as it travels out, so the fan appears to be moving even when the car is still, and the bolted ring around it stops the pattern cleanly at the outer edge.

Faces this dense hide almost everything behind them, which is either a feature or a waste of a good brake kit. They also behave strangely in photographs, where the twist can alias into odd patterns at certain angles. Rendered on a car at a normal viewing distance you get a much more honest preview.

Series S, forged 3-piece, offered in 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Luxury sedans and heavy coupes, and deep gloss wraps where a fine turbine face adds texture the body panels lack. We've rendered it on 231 cars so far — same studio frame each time, wheel swapped in place.

Questions, answered

What sizes does the HRE S209 come in?

20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Diameter shown; width and offset are specified at order. It is forged 3-piece, so the wheel is machined for the car rather than picked off a shelf. The reference set is simple here: satin black, gloss black and brushed clear, usually with a polished lip.

Will the S209 fit my car?

Almost certainly. Nothing in this set is cast — every wheel is forged to order, so width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore are specified when you place the order. The variable that matters visually is diameter, and that is what these renders show.

Are these photos or renders?

Renders, and deliberately so. Each car is rendered once per wheel in the same studio frame, so the only thing that changes between two images is the wheel itself. A photo set shot in different places and different light can't give you that comparison.
