HRE Performance Wheels 521

The 520 family, with the clutter removed

Side by side the difference is obvious: the 521 forks its arms cleanly and leaves them alone. Without the inner cross-links that thicken the 520, the windows grow into long open shapes and the face reads as a set of slim V-pairs rather than a web. The three-piece build still frames it with a thin polished lip and a ring of hardware.

Open faces show what is behind them, so the 521 is the one to pick if your calipers are painted or your barrel is a contrasting color. It also stays legible at small diameters, where the denser 520 can turn into a gray blur. The choice between the two is really a choice about how much detail you want in the arch.

Series 5, forged 3-piece, offered in 18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Mid-engine and rear-engine sports cars with visible brakes, and clean gloss wraps that do not need a busy wheel to add interest. We've rendered it on 231 cars so far — same studio frame each time, wheel swapped in place.

Questions, answered

What sizes does the HRE 521 come in?

18", 19", 20", 21", 22", 23", 24". Diameter shown; width and offset are specified at order. It is forged 3-piece, so the wheel is machined for the car rather than picked off a shelf. Shown with brushed champagne, gloss silver, frozen polished bronze and frozen dark clear faces against a polished lip.

Will the 521 fit my car?

Almost certainly. Nothing in this set is cast — every wheel is forged to order, so width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore are specified when you place the order. The variable that matters visually is diameter, and that is what these renders show.

Are these photos or renders?

Renders, and deliberately so. Each car is rendered once per wheel in the same studio frame, so the only thing that changes between two images is the wheel itself. A photo set shot in different places and different light can't give you that comparison.
