HRE Performance Wheels HD188

Eight heavy spokes and a bumped outer ring

Everything about this face is thicker than the road-car designs. Eight heavy spokes leave a large center pad, fasteners sit exposed in a ring around it, and the outer edge of the face carries a row of raised oval bumps that reads as a simulated beadlock. Two diameters only, 20 and 22, and a two-piece forged build behind it.

Truck and SUV wheels have to fill an arch that is far taller than a car's, which is why the proportions here are so different from the rest of the catalog. A face this solid also reads well in matte and textured finishes, where the bump ring and the fastener circle supply all the detail the wheel needs.

Series HD, forged 2-piece fmr, offered in 20", 22". Full-size pickups and body-on-frame SUVs, and matte or satin wraps in earth tones, gray and black where a bronze wheel warms things up. We've rendered it on 231 cars so far — same studio frame each time, wheel swapped in place.

Questions, answered

What sizes does the HRE HD188 come in?

20", 22". Diameter shown; width and offset are specified at order. It is forged 2-piece fmr, so the wheel is machined for the car rather than picked off a shelf. The reference set includes matte bronze, brushed dark clear, frozen dark clear and a gloss black build.

Will the HD188 fit my car?

Almost certainly. Nothing in this set is cast — every wheel is forged to order, so width, offset, bolt pattern and centre bore are specified when you place the order. The variable that matters visually is diameter, and that is what these renders show.

Are these photos or renders?

Renders, and deliberately so. Each car is rendered once per wheel in the same studio frame, so the only thing that changes between two images is the wheel itself. A photo set shot in different places and different light can't give you that comparison.
